Custom Biomechanical Modelling and Analysis for Your Data.

Visual 3D

Data from
Different Sources

With Visual3D, you’re in charge of your analysis. Import data from any 3D motion capture system. Merge marker-based, markerless and analog signals into one coherent analysis. Define the models you want. Find answers to your questions.

Your answers depend on different kinds of data, so you need analysis software that makes it easy to bring everything together in one place. Pull in data from both marker-based and markerless motion capture systems, inertial sensors, force platforms, and EMG to inform your analysis.

Fully Custom Pose Estimation

Different people and different activities need different models. That’s why Visual3D lets you define your model your way with either 6-degree-of-freedom tracking or inverse kinematics constraints. Adults and kids. Sports equipment and prosthetics. Horses. Robots. The only limit is the data you can collect.

Automatic Model-building

Visual3D offers automatic model-building for 3D markerless and IMU systems, speeding up the analysis process.

Go behind the curtain as well to update, merge, and manage your models.

6 Degrees of Freedom

Visual3D implements 6DOF, or segment optimization, methods for pose estimation based on Capello et al., 1997.

Inverse Kinematics

Visual3D implements Inverse Kinematics, or global optimization, methods for pose estimation based on Lu and O’Connor, 1999.

Constraints:
Specify 1-6 degrees of freedom

Weight constraints freely

Optimizers:

Quasi-Newton

Levenberg-Marquardt

L-BFGS-B (Limited-memory Broyden–Fletcher–Goldfarb–Shannon with box constraints)

Repeatable Analysis

Decisions based on biomechanical insights need to be grounded in robust results. You’re in good hands here with Visual3D.

Visual3D never touches your original data, so you can always rerun your analysis.

All results come with their processing history, providing a clear chain of evidence.

Individual operations are all based on published methods: no black box algorithms.

Save everything as a Visual3D analysis pipeline to ensure that everyone is running the same analysis, whether you’re working in the same lab or collaborating across continents.
