Second Instalment in HAS-Motion’s Conference Art Series

HAS-Motion’s inaugural Conference Art Series print in 2024 was a lot of fun for us. So of course we were excited to do it again with another Kingston-based artist. Like last year, the idea was to bring together biomechanics and art while also bringing a little bit of our hometown with us everywhere we go. In 2025 we collaborated with Hill Werth to bring their unmistakable style to this year’s American Society of Biomechanics conference in Pittsburgh where one attendee won an exclusive print!

Art. Science.

Our Conference Art Series connects with artists who are interested in expressing a creative view of biomechanics. Every day we build tools to help practitioners gain analytical insights from noisy measurement. This year’s piece builds on that and embodies the tension between clarity and ambiguity, answers and impressions.

Hill Werth works as the owner of Slow & Intentional, billing themselves as artist, activist, educator, and athlete. And Kingston locals will certainly recognize the iconic style that is regularly spotted in shop windows and on bulletin boards. This year’s piece features the HAS-Motion mission to “Understand Human Movement” boldly printed on top of a varied and abstract background.

Next Up, Art and the World Congress of Biomechanics

Canada welcomes the world of motion capture and movement science to Vancouver in 2026 for the 10th World Congress of Biomechanics. As a proud member of the Canadian biomechanics community, HAS-Motion will be there to connect with researchers, participate in the scientific program, and once again introduce a Conference Art piece that provides a creative look at our field.

We welcome all attendees to join us and see what next year’s artist will create as part of this project!
